This is the first entry in my "College Blog." In fact, what compelled me to write this piece was an assignment in my Technical Writing course. However, this is not my first foray into the blogosphere. I have been writing online for a few years now and have contributed hundreds of articles and blog entries to the internet over that time.
I have loved to write since I was a kid. In the early years (BC---"Before [I owned a] Computer") I wrote with pen, paper, and typewriter. Since then, I have come to take on the internet as a forum for my writing. Being an English major and Mass Communications minor, I hope to continue taking my writing to the masses succssfully and, hopefully, lucratively!
My technical writing course has afforded me a chance to learn the ins and outs of writing for a general audience. Taking ideas, thoughts, and information and learning how to package them in a clear and a concise way for a large audience is the key to becoming a successful writer, editor, and communicator.

I love that you mentioned a typewriter! I used to love playing with ours when I was little and typing out stories to my family. Super post!

ReplyDeleteI've always enjoyed writing as well. Although it ususally takes me a while to come up witht a good intro for what I'm writing.
ReplyDeleteI used to use my mom's old typewriter to write stories--oh the paper I went through. I moved to blogging about 5 years ago. I quit for a while, but this class prompted me to start again. Viva la Blogging!
